How To Get Over Yourself
Posted on October 29th, 2007 by John Hasson
You’re at a social event. You say/do something really stupid. You catch yourself and think boy, that was dumb; but it is too late. You are still thinking about it the next day and how you could have done better/differently. Right here is where you need to stop.
- You can’t change it
- 99% of the people that heard/saw it have forgotten about it because they are fretting over the stupid thing they did.
This is not a license to be a tool. It is a thought process to help you stop worrying so much about the past and dwelling on mistakes. Everyone screws up. The trick is to not spend a bunch of wasted energy worrying about it. If it was wrong, remember not to do it again and move on with your life. Don’t worry so much about what everyone else might be thinking. In short get over yourself ![]()
Why do you need to get over yourself?
Me personally, I think I[m probably fine
But if you know someone who still has issues with this, it is helpful advice
